The good news is the Guild continues to grow with new members joining each month.  The bad news is because of our size and active participation we have to pay for meeting space—for both Guild and Bee meetings.  This means our expenses are more significant than in the past.

How to help?  Donations to the Guild could be designated as to their use, such as paying for rent, to be added to the Philanthropy Fund, to fund speakers or programs, etc. WAQG provides documentation for each donation to the donor.  

• Checks can be mailed or handed to our Treasurer at any time.  They should be made out to The Woodlands Area Quilt Guild, or to WAQG. These donations are TAX DEDUCTIBLE. 
• Qualified Charitable Donations (QCD):  Donations can be made directly from IRA (and related retirement) accounts and are considered part of the annual RMD (Required Minimum Distribution).  A QCD doesn't offer a tax deduction, but the QCD amount isn't included in one’s taxable income. The firm holding the account will have specific instructions for making such contributions. 
• Add WAQG to your Estate Plan:  An estate plan could include discussion of donation of fabric holdings, machines and/or funds to WAQG.  These donations may be tax deductible depending upon the terms of the estate plan and tax laws at the time of the donation.
