Join us on July 15 for a special presentation about Quilts of Valor, a remarkable national organization dedicated to honoring service members and veterans who have been touched by war.
Through the gift of a handmade quilt, Quilts of Valor Foundation expresses gratitude and appreciation to those who have sacrificed to ensure our freedom.
This inspiring program will introduce the mission of Quilts of Valor and share how quilters can make a meaningful difference in the lives of our nation's veterans. Learn about the organization's impact, the process of creating and awarding quilts, and the many ways you can become involved.
Whether you are already familiar with Quilts of Valor or are hearing about it for the first time, this presentation is an opportunity to discover how our guild can work together to honor and support those who have served our country.
Come join us as we celebrate the power of quilting, gratitude, and service—and learn how a quilt can become a heartfelt expression of thanks to our veterans.

We are delighted to welcome author Janet K. Shawgo of Galveston, Texas, to our guild for a special presentation inspired by her latest book, My Sister's Quilt.
An accomplished writer since 2009, Janet has published eleven novels. Her newest book, My Sister's Quilt, is a collection of eight short stories that celebrate the powerful connection between quilts and family history. Through stories of cherished moments, beloved family members, and treasured traditions, Janet explores how quilts become more than fabric and thread—they become keepers of memories and storytellers across generations.
During her presentation, Janet will share the inspiration behind My Sister's Quilt, discuss the meaningful role quilts have played in her own family, and reflect on how quilting can serve as a beautiful way to document and preserve our personal histories. Her presentation will allow plenty of time for questions and conversation with guild members.
Join us for an engaging and heartwarming program that reminds us that every quilt has a story—and every stitch helps preserve a family's legacy.
