Guild Sponsored Workshops

BASIC INFORMATION:
The WAQG workshops are currently being held at the Robinson Rd Community Center at 27434 Robinson Rd, Conroe, TX 77385. 

Registration for members is $35 and due upon signup. It’s a good idea to bring a sack lunch as our lunch break is generally a quick one. If there are openings one month prior to the workshop, non-guild members may register for the workshop for a $45 fee.  Setup for workshops begin at 8:30; workshops are from 9 until 3:30.

April  2020—Jody, Borrows, Square in a Square 
Lecture, 4/1: During her lecture you will hear stories about Jodi’s unique family history of women. Come and see the quilts, learn some American history and listen to Jodi as she makes this pre-Civil War period come to life.

Workshop, 4/2: Use the Square in a Square System to create square within squares. The result is extra clean cuts along with speed and accuracy not found with other methods.  You will be amazed at how versatile the system can be!


May 2020—Nancy Mahoney, Nancy Mahoney Designs
Lecture, 5/6: Two Block Wonders You’ll learn how every quilter, regardless of the skill level, can make unique quilts. Nancy will share tips for successfully pairing-upblocks to create dazzling quilts. 

Workshop, 5/7: Wild WavesCreate a dynamic design with this off-center Pineapple block, while learning all the tricks of foundation paper piecing. In this fast-pace class, all aspects of foundation paper piecing will be covered, including how to measure, cut, and correctly position the right fabric piece. This is a great
class for mastering foundation paper piecing! Pattern included for each student. Quilt size: 60″ x 60″.


June 2020, Karen Combs, Quilts of Illusion
Lecture, 6/3: Explore the world of optical illusions with Karen as she shows you some of the wonderful quilts that she has created.  A beautiful and inspiring trunk show.

Workshop, 6/4: Chip Out of Every Block–This the chip going in or does it go out?  An fun quilt of illusion, so simple to make, once you know how.  A throw that can grow to any size you wish!  Let Karen show you how easy it is to create a intriguing quilt of illusion.
