If there are openings one month prior to the workshop, non-guild members may register for the workshop for a $40 fee.  All interested parties may contact Debbie Walters at dwalters@sbcglobal.net or 281.610.2543.  (Workshop Fees do not include patterns or other supplies.)

 August, 2018

Community Quilts will be hosting our 3rd annual Community Sew Night at the August meeting. Here’s a brief preview of what we’ve got planned:

  • Construction Workshops to put together pre-cut kits
  • Design Studios to create top kits from donated UFOs and panels
  • Quilters’ Palettes to organize pre-cut scraps by color and size
  • Master Scrappers to trim donated scraps into squares (cutting accuracy critical)

The next time you’re working on a quilt or organizing your stash/studio, set aside anything you might be willing to bring along and donate to the cause! Leftover project squares, rectangles, half-square or quarter-square triangles, blocks, jellyroll strips, binding and larger scraps of fabric will all add to our fun.

If you have a portable design wall you can lend us for the night (Wednesday August 1st), please contact me. We’d like to have 4 or 5. We’re looking for design walls with freestanding frames.

Our Community Quilts group meets regularly from 9 am – 3 pm every 2nd Friday of the month at the Community Center. Please feel free to join us anytime!
