Guild Sponsored Workshops
The WAQG is pleased to announce that the 2019 workshops be held at the Living Water Church of Spring, 26910 Aldine Westfield, Spring, TX 77373. Registration for members is $35 and due upon signup. It’s a good idea to bring a sack lunch as our lunch break is generally a quick one. If there are openings one month prior to the workshop, non-guild members may register for the workshop for a $45 fee. Setup for workshops being at 8:30, class will begin at 9:00 and then end at 3:30.

Join us on Wednesday 9/4 to find out how a lady who is from a state that has very few barns ended up spending three years studying barn quilts. Come back on Thursday for a “paint your own” Barn Quilt.

Sue’s lecture—You’ve Got a Friend Named Elmer
As ‘piecers’ we all want to achieve PERFECTLY aligned seams and matched stripes, in addition to flat, square and accurately sized blocks. In this lecture, Sue will guarantee it. Plus, she will show you how to eliminate bias stretch, create curved INSIDE borders and sew pieced circles, all without the need for pins, clips or gadgets.
Her Workshop—Fill Harmonics
Create a symphony of harmonious background designs that group well together on any type of quilt – or use just one for a dramatic textural effect. You’ll learn how to draw an array of free-motion and grid pattern backgrounds while Sue demonstrates with step-by-step illustrations and how-to hints. Skill Level: Open to all skill levels.
Nov 2019—Catherine Cureton, Running Doe Quilts
Catherine is a young pattern designer and quilter from Cedar Park, TX. She will be our guest on Nov 6th and 7th where she will be displaying her contemporary and traditional quilt designs with a trunk show that shows off approximately 40 of her patterns that are published by Villa Rose Designs.
